Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi-year innovation roadmaps targeting 2026 technological inflection points
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in prototyping next-gen solutions (quantum AI, biotech fusion, etc.)
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and Fortune 500 innovation labs
- Present future scenarios to C-suite executives and external stakeholders
- Manage $5M+ innovation budgets with ROI-focused resource allocation
- Drive patent portfolios and intellectual property strategy for emerging technologies
- Mentor junior futurists in horizon scanning and trend analysis methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in innovation strategy, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting
- Proven track record of launching market-disruptive technologies
- Advanced degree in Technology Forecasting, Systems Innovation, or equivalent
- Expertise in scenario planning, technology adoption curves, and exponential tech trends
- Strong network within tech innovation ecosystems (Silicon Valley, Austin, etc.)
- Published thought leadership in futurism or innovation journals
- Certification in Futures Studies (e.g., CFS) or equivalent
- Experience scaling innovation from concept to commercialization
