Responsibilities
- Architect and execute 5-year innovation roadmap aligned with 2026 technological inflection points
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams of futurists, engineers, and data scientists in developing prototype technologies
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and quantum computing facilities
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D budget through compelling innovation proposals
- Present breakthrough findings at global tech summits and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Mentor junior innovators through Horizon's Future Leaders program
- Monitor emerging tech trends (quantum AI, neuro interfaces, climate tech) and adapt strategy accordingly
Qualifications
- PhD in Computational Physics, Quantum Engineering, or equivalent with 8+ years R&D leadership
- Published research in Nature/Science journals with 50+ citations
- Proven track record scaling R&D teams from 5 to 50+ members
- Expertise in at least two emerging domains: quantum machine learning, synthetic biology, or climate modeling
- Successful commercialization of at least one patented technology
- Experience securing federal SBIR grants or similar innovation funding
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum simulation platforms
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Japanese for global collaboration
