Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in developing next-gen prototypes (quantum algorithms, bio-integrated systems, etc.)
- Conduct horizon scanning and trend analysis to identify emerging technologies with 2026 commercial potential
- Secure and manage partnerships with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Develop patent portfolios for novel IP in quantum-secure communications and AI ethics frameworks
- Mentor engineers in rapid prototyping methodologies for unproven technologies
- Present technical roadmaps to C-suite and venture capital stakeholders
- Oversee compliance with emerging tech regulatory landscapes (AI governance, quantum export controls)
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Quantum Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry breakthroughs)
- 5+ years leading R&D initiatives in exponential technology domains
- Published research in Nature/Science or top-tier conference proceedings
- Expertise in at least one emerging tech stack (quantum programming, neuromorphic hardware, etc.)
- Proven track record of launching 3+ tech products from concept to market
- Deep understanding of technology convergence patterns and S-curves
- Strong network within DARPA, NSF, or equivalent innovation ecosystems
- Certification in AI ethics (e.g., IEEE Ethically Aligned Design)
