Responsibilities
- Design and implement 3-5 year technology roadmaps for emerging fields (quantum AI, neural interfaces, synthetic biology)
- Lead R&D initiatives for prototype development of next-gen systems
- Partner with VPs of Engineering and Product to align tech strategy with business goals
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive trends and patent opportunities
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and external investors
- Manage $2M+ innovation budgets with ROI-focused allocation
- Mentor junior futurists in emerging technology methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D, or venture innovation
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futuristics
- Proven track record scaling breakthrough technologies from concept to market
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AI, biotech, AR/VR)
- Executive-level presentation skills with 50+ keynotes delivered
- Published thought leadership in IEEE or Nature journals
- Fluency in strategic foresight frameworks (e.g., Delphi, scenario planning)
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, or similar tech stack for prototyping
