Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithm research targeting 2026 commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for scalable systems
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners on quantum adoption roadmaps
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Present findings at premier quantum conferences (IEEE QCE, APS March Meeting)
- Contribute to quantum security standards development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in quantum algorithm development
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong background in quantum error correction techniques
- Demonstrated leadership of technical research teams
- Experience with quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Clearance for government quantum research projects preferred
