Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems using Qiskit and Cirq frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to mitigate quantum decoherence in 128-qubit systems
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical machine learning models for predictive analytics
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical quantum advantage into commercial applications
- Secure $5M+ in NSF and DoD quantum research grants by 2026
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Author patents and publish 2+ peer-reviewed annually in top-tier journals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Published record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and GPU acceleration
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated success in securing government or corporate research funding
