Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Develop novel error correction techniques for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate quantum processors with classical computing stacks
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in DARPA/NIST grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information theory and experimental physics
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Expertise in superconducting qubit manipulation or photonic quantum systems
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Experience securing government research grants (preferred)
- Ability to work in cryogenic laboratory environments
- Clearance for ITAR-compliant research (or ability to obtain)
