Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems in finance, logistics, and drug discovery
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using IBM and Rigetti systems
- Design fault-tolerant quantum error correction protocols for next-generation processors
- Collaborate with MIT and Stanford researchers on hybrid quantum-classical frameworks
- Secure $10M+ in DoE and NSF grants for quantum research initiatives
- Author 3+ peer-reviewed publications in Nature/Science annually
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published results
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of solving NP-hard problems using quantum annealing
- Deep understanding of topological quantum computing and braiding operations
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware calibration and maintenance
- Strong background in quantum cryptography (BB84, E91 protocols)
- Ability to secure government clearance for classified projects
