Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction methodologies to extend quantum coherence beyond current limits
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical models into practical quantum applications
- Author high-impact research papers for journals like Nature Quantum Information
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit architectures
- Secure research grants from DARPA and NSF to fund exploratory projects
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years research experience
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, TQC)
- Expertise in quantum algorithm development (VQE, QAOA, Grover's variants)
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Demonstrated experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum systems
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Ability to secure competitive research funding
