Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum error correction techniques for scalable quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional research projects with hardware and software engineering teams
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum) and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure and manage $500K+ research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate research into commercial quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Published record in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Experience with superconducting qubits or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with hardware engineers and domain experts
