Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing protocols on superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Secure and manage research funding through federal grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant computing
- Expertise in quantum hardware architectures (superconducting qubits, trapped ions)
- Strong background in complex mathematical analysis and statistical modeling
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Excellent communication skills with interdisciplinary team leadership experience
