The Role
In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture and development of our proprietary 2D rendering engine. You will work closely with product designers and frontend developers to translate high-fidelity concepts into fluid, performant web experiences. You will optimize rendering pipelines for complex data visualizations and interactive tools.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain high-performance 2D rendering engines using modern web standards (Canvas API, WebGL, SVG).
- Optimize rendering performance for complex visualizations, ensuring 60fps experiences on a wide range of devices.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement pixel-perfect, responsive 2D interfaces and interactive elements.
- Debug and resolve complex graphical artifacts and cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices for graphics programming.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies in 2D graphics and implement them to drive product innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in web development with a focus on 2D graphics, animation, or game engines.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
- Strong proficiency in 2D graphics libraries such as Pixi.js, Phaser, or Three.js (2D contexts).
- Experience with WebGL or Canvas API optimization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
