Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum algorithms for practical commercial applications
- Design and execute quantum hardware optimization strategies to achieve quantum advantage
- Collaborate with government and private sector partners on national quantum security initiatives
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Develop roadmaps for quantum-resistant cryptography implementations
- Secure federal and private funding for next-generation quantum projects
- Mentor PhD researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Proven track record of securing government research grants
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in topological quantum computing or quantum annealing
- Published research in Nature/Science journals preferred
- Active Q-clearance or ability to obtain government security clearance
