Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Develop proprietary quantum programming frameworks and SDKs
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with physical implementations
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and publish 3+ high-impact papers annually
- Shape quantum computing standards through IEEE and ISO contributions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in quantum algorithm development with published research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Proficiency in quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
- Proven track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical applications
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary research teams
- Patent portfolio or peer-reviewed publications in quantum computing
