Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for NISQ-era hardware
- Lead experimental quantum computing research using superconducting qubits
- Develop error correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $5M+ in government grants for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and lead cross-functional quantum teams
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and microwave control
- Deep understanding of quantum complexity theory and cryptography
- Track record of securing DOE/NIST grants
- Expertise in Python, C++, and low-level hardware interfacing
