Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle for 2026 lunar habitat project, including requirements definition, architecture design, and integration
- Develop and maintain complex system models using MATLAB/Simulink, ensuring compliance with NASA DOD-STD-2167A standards
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across mechanical, software, and avionics disciplines to ensure seamless system integration
- Perform failure mode analysis and risk mitigation for life-critical systems
- Develop verification and validation plans, documenting all engineering activities per ISO 15288 requirements
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining project documentation in PLM systems
- Present technical findings to executive stakeholders and external partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace or defense sectors
- Expertise in DOORS or Jama Connect for requirements management
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies
- Certification in INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent
- Experience with space-rated hardware qualification testing
- Strong analytical skills for complex system trade studies
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one
