Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives targeting 2026 technological breakthroughs in AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology
- Develop and execute innovation roadmaps aligned with 5-year market forecasts and regulatory landscapes
- Forge strategic partnerships with academic institutions, government labs, and Fortune 500 R&D divisions
- Conduct horizon scanning and competitive analysis for emerging technologies with 2026 commercialization potential
- Present innovation frameworks to C-suite executives and board members using data-driven simulations
- Mentor a team of 5-7 futurists and technology architects
- Secure and manage $15M+ annual innovation budget across experimental projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futuristics; PhD preferred
- 8+ years in tech innovation strategy with 3+ years in emerging tech commercialization
- Proven track record launching products/services with 5+ year market horizons
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, AGI ethics, synthetic biology, or climate tech
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry whitepapers
- Experience securing government grants (DARPA, NSF, Horizon Europe) and venture capital
- Fluency in future forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning, tech S-curves)
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
