Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum research roadmap targeting 2026 commercialization milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected qubit architectures
- Collaborate with industry partners to prototype quantum solutions for finance, logistics, and drug discovery
- Secure and manage $5M+ in government and private research grants
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish university partnerships
- Ensure compliance with NIST quantum security standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science on quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Track record of securing DOE/NASA/NSF research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning algorithms
- Experience leading teams of 10+ researchers in industrial/academic settings
- Proficiency in cryogenic engineering and superconducting systems
- Strong patent portfolio with 5+ quantum computing innovations
