Responsibilities
- Lead horizon-scanning initiatives to identify breakthrough technologies with 2026 commercialization potential
- Develop strategic technology roadmaps aligning with company's 5-year innovation goals
- Collaborate with C-suite executives to integrate future-tech insights into corporate strategy
- Manage cross-functional teams executing proof-of-concept projects for 2026-ready solutions
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and tech incubators for emerging tech R&D
- Present technology forecasts to investors and board members with data-driven narratives
- Champion ethical innovation frameworks for next-gen AI and autonomous systems
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or emerging tech consulting
- Proven track record mapping technology trajectories beyond 2025 horizon
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, generative AI ethics, or climate tech
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous innovation challenges
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futures Studies (PhD preferred)
- Published thought leadership in tech foresight or innovation strategy
- Strong network within DARPA, IEEE, or similar tech innovation ecosystems
