We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Technology to lead the digital transformation efforts for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics. This is a high-impact role requiring an individual who can navigate complex international regulations while delivering cutting-edge technology solutions on a global scale. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity of the event's digital ecosystem, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and fan engagement across millions of devices.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and executive stakeholders, driving innovation that sets the standard for future global sporting events.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Define and execute the technology roadmap for the 2026 Winter Olympics, aligning digital initiatives with organizational goals and legacy objectives.
- Infrastructure Leadership: Manage a multi-million dollar budget for cloud infrastructure, data centers, and on-site networking hardware.
- Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive athlete data, sponsor information, and broadcast feeds from cyber threats.
- Global Integration: Coordinate with international IT committees to ensure interoperability between venues in Italy and global broadcasting partners.
- Stakeholder Management: Present complex technical concepts to C-suite executives and government officials with clarity and confidence.
- Talent Development: Lead a diverse team of engineers, project managers, and security analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in IT leadership, specifically within large-scale infrastructure projects or event management.
- Certifications: PMP, PgMP, or ITIL v4 certification is required.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), network security (CISSP), and big data analytics.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence across international boundaries.
- Availability: Ability to travel to host venues and international offices as required.
