Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 2026 technology roadmaps across quantum computing, AI ethics, and sustainable tech domains
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives with 12+ engineers and designers
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Secure $5M+ in annual R&D funding through strategic partnerships and government grants
- Present technology forecasts to C-suite and board stakeholders using data-driven narratives
- Manage patent portfolios and intellectual property strategy for emerging tech domains
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of experimental innovation
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy, R&D leadership, or emerging tech commercialization
- Proven track record in quantum computing, AI governance, or sustainable tech implementation
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants ($1M+ projects)
- Deep understanding of technology adoption lifecycle and market disruption patterns
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
- Certification in Technology Foresight or Innovation Management (e.g., CFIP, CIMP)
