Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the 2026 innovation strategy roadmap using horizon scanning and trend analysis
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping and validating emerging technology solutions (AI, quantum computing, biotech)
- Deliver strategic foresight reports to the C-suite and board of directors
- Build and manage an ecosystem of innovation partners including VCs, research institutions, and startups
- Champion a culture of experimentation through hackathons, innovation labs, and rapid prototyping initiatives
- Secure $5M+ annual innovation budget through compelling ROI projections and stakeholder alignment
- Mentor next-generation futurists and innovation specialists through Horizon's talent development programs
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic innovation, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting with Fortune 500 companies
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies with measurable impact
- Deep expertise in at least two of: AI/ML, quantum computing, synthetic biology, or space technology
- Exceptional systems thinking and scenario planning skills (e.g., Shell GameChanger methodology)
- Published thought leadership in futurist journals or keynote speaker at global tech forums
- Advanced degree in Technology Management, Systems Engineering, or relevant field
- Proficiency in innovation frameworks: Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Strategic Foresight
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling executive narratives
