As a cornerstone of our Quantum R&D division, you'll influence how industries leverage quantum advantage while ensuring ethical deployment through our proprietary Quantum Ethics Framework. This hybrid position offers flexible scheduling with 3 days/week in our downtown Austin campus and comprehensive benefits including equity grants in our pre-IPO quantum startup.
Responsibilities
- Design fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures for enterprise-scale applications
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms optimizing for 2026-era hardware constraints
- Lead cross-disciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, and security specialists
- Implement quantum-safe encryption protocols for next-gen communication systems
- Author technical whitepapers on quantum advantage in financial modeling and drug discovery
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks while protecting IP through patents
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum error correction techniques
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and topological qubit manipulation
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq)
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum computing breakthroughs
- Experience with quantum annealing and superconducting qubit systems
- Certification in Quantum Security Architecture (QSA) from recognized institutions
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Strong background in complex system design and high-performance computing
