Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum processor architectures using superconducting qubits and photonic systems
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Optimize quantum algorithms for real-world applications in finance and healthcare
- Secure $5M+ in research grants through NIH/NSF/DARPA proposals
- Maintain quantum system security against emerging cyber threats
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and speak at IEEE conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in quantum computing hardware development
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in quantum information theory (minimum 3 peer-reviewed papers)
- Experience securing government research funding
- Deep understanding of cryogenic engineering and microwave control systems
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum optimization
