Responsibilities
- Lead development of fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Design quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical research with practical implementations
- Secure and manage $5M+ annual R&D budgets
- Mentor interdisciplinary research teams across physics, CS, and materials science
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals
- Drive strategic partnerships with quantum hardware providers
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum algorithm development experience
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum research
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Familiarity with Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum frameworks
- Strong background in superconducting or trapped-ion systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure government/industry grants
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
