Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development and optimization for practical commercial applications
- Direct research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with quantum processor capabilities
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from federal agencies and private investors
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Develop quantum security protocols for 2026-era blockchain and encryption systems
- Present breakthroughs to C-suite executives and government stakeholders
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published record in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Proven success securing government or corporate research funding
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary technical teams
- Clearance for potential government contract work preferred
