Job Description
Join Nexus Labs at the forefront of computational revolution as we pioneer quantum systems that will redefine technology by 2026. We're seeking a visionary Quantum Computing Research Scientist to architect next-gen algorithms and solve previously impossible problems in cryptography, AI, and materials science. This role offers unparalleled access to our state-of-the-art quantum annealing facilities and collaborative partnerships with MIT, Caltech, and NASA's Quantum AI Lab.
You'll lead breakthrough research in quantum error correction, develop scalable quantum software frameworks, and publish findings in Nature Physics. We provide competitive equity packages, flexible remote options, and a $50,000 annual research stipend for experimental projects. Our culture thrives on intellectual curiosity – here, failure is just data for the next iteration.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for 100+ qubit quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers
- Collaborate with government agencies on post-quantum cryptography standards
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum programming languages
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Published research in top-tier quantum journals
- Expertise in quantum annealing or superconducting qubit systems
- Strong Python/C++ proficiency for hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Experience with quantum machine learning frameworks (PennyLane, TensorFlow Quantum)
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
