Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and cryptography
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop error mitigation techniques to achieve practical quantum advantage by 2026
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical research into commercial applications
- Author breakthrough publications in top-tier journals and present at premier conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Expertise in quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, trapped ions, photonics)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum information theory, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of translating theoretical concepts into experimental results
- Experience securing federal research grants is highly desirable
