Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum processors at 500+ qubit scale
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Secure $5M+ in government and private research grants for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development with demonstrated impact
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum hardware
