Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum software for superconducting qubits
- Lead research projects with publication goals in Nature Physics and Science journals
- Secure external funding through NSF and DOE quantum computing grants
- Mentor PhD candidates and cross-functional engineering teams
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 3+ years of quantum research
- Expertise in quantum circuit design, Qiskit/Cirq frameworks, and quantum machine learning
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Experience with superconducting qubit architectures and cryogenic systems
- Strong background in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Proven ability to secure research grants ($500k+ preferred)
