Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into functional quantum circuits
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and top-tier conferences
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
- Drive intellectual property strategy with 15+ annual patent applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years of industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq) and frameworks
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or IEEE Transactions
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, group theory, and complex analysis
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
