Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction protocols and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Lead research on quantum machine learning models and hybrid quantum-classical workflows
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at major conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing educational initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF, DOE, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with quantum specialization
- 5+ years of quantum computing research experience with published papers in top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Proficiency in Python/C++ and quantum circuit optimization techniques
- Demonstrated experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into practical engineering solutions
