Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum systems targeting 2026 scalability milestones
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge theoretical quantum models with practical quantum processors
- Secure and manage research funding through NSF, DoE, and private sector partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives across the organization
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of quantum research experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent-tier quantum computing publications
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum error correction codes
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and classical simulation tools
- Demonstrated ability to secure $500K+ in quantum computing research grants
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing architectures
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and superconducting qubit manipulation
