Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop error-corrected quantum systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors for 2026-scale applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Develop commercial applications for quantum advantage in real-world scenarios
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Quil)
- Demonstrated experience with quantum error correction techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra, topology, and computational complexity
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
