Responsibilities
Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problemsDevelop quantum machine learning models to accelerate AI breakthroughsLead research initiatives in quantum-resistant cryptography and cybersecurityCollaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performanceSecure research funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposalsMentor junior researchers and publish findings in Nature/Science journalsPresent findings at international quantum computing conferences (QIP, etc.)
Qualifications
PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics (2020-2025 graduates preferred)Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and error correctionProficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and PythonPublication record in peer-reviewed quantum computing journalsExperience with quantum simulators (Qiskit Aer, IBM Quantum Lab)Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applicationsStrong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and statistical mechanicsPreferred: 2+ years of quantum hardware interaction or industry R&D experience
