Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead R&D projects on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum software stacks
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- mentor junior researchers and drive quantum computing education initiatives
- Identify emerging quantum applications in cryptography, materials science, and AI
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Publication record in quantum computing or theoretical computer science
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and cloud platforms
