Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing prototypes using superconducting qubits
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit coherence times and error correction
- Develop machine learning models for quantum circuit optimization
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and secure NSF/NIH grants for quantum initiatives
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing frameworks like Qiskit
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and error correction codes
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and Python/C++
- Published work in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and quantum information theory
- Track record of securing competitive research funding
