Our state-of-the-art San Francisco laboratory provides access to quantum annealing systems, superconducting processors, and a 10-petaflops classical-quantum hybrid computing cluster. You'll lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical breakthroughs into practical applications while contributing to our open-source quantum SDK.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using IBM and Rigetti processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum-classical interfaces
- Publish research in Nature Physics/Science and contribute to IEEE Quantum standards
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, QCE)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments (HPC, CUDA)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Strong background in quantum machine learning applications
- Experience with cryogenic quantum system integration
