Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithm experiments using superconducting qubits and trapped-ion systems
- Develop novel error-correction techniques to overcome quantum decoherence challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum machine learning applications
- Author peer-reviewed research publications and contribute to open-source quantum frameworks
- Optimize quantum circuit performance for cloud-based quantum computing platforms
- Secure research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Familiarity with quantum hardware architectures (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability, and quantum mechanics
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch) for quantum hybrid systems
- Ability to obtain DOE Q-clearance for sensitive research projects
