Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error mitigation protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using IBM and Rigetti systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design fault-tolerant qubit architectures
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral research
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven ability to secure competitive research grants
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
