Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors optimized for specific algorithms
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week conferences
- Secure $1M+ in quantum computing grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals (e.g., PRX Quantum, Quantum)
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity theory
- Experience with superconducting quantum systems or photonic quantum processors
