Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical frameworks for near-term practical applications
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $2M+ in government/industry research grants annually
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum computing
- Collaborate with Intel, IBM, and NASA on quantum-hardware-software co-design
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science with 5+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature Quantum, PRL)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in at least one quantum hardware platform (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Track record of securing competitive research grants (NSF, DARPA, EU)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with high-performance computing for quantum simulation
