Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in cryptography and materials science
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers in quantum circuit development
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $1M+ in DARPA/NASA grant funding for 2026 project milestones
- Mentor PhD interns from MIT and Stanford quantum computing programs
- Develop error-correction protocols for 1000+ qubit systems
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum annealing or gate-based systems
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum simulation libraries (Qiskit, PennyLane)
- Demonstrated success in securing government research grants
- Experience mentoring early-career quantum researchers
- Knowledge of quantum machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Quantum)
- Clearance for DOE/NIST classified research projects
