Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Design and implement quantum error correction systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge quantum software-hardware interfaces
- Lead open-source quantum computing projects and contribute to industry standards
- Secure $500K+ in annual R&D funding through grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually
- Partner with Fortune 500 clients on quantum computing applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Expertise in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency with high-performance computing and cloud platforms (AWS Braket, IBM Quantum)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical optimization techniques
- Experience securing DoE or NSF grants preferred
- Clearance for government-contracted research projects
