Responsibilities
- Develop and implement horizon-scanning frameworks to identify emerging technologies with 5-10 year commercial impact
- Architect innovation roadmaps for quantum computing, synthetic biology, and autonomous systems
- Lead cross-functional workshops with engineering, product, and executive teams to align on future-proof strategies
- Publish thought leadership whitepapers and present at global tech conferences (CES, Web Summit, Davos)
- Manage partnerships with MIT Media Lab, Singularity University, and other future-focused institutions
- Advise C-suite on regulatory implications of breakthrough technologies (AI governance, quantum encryption)
- Build and mentor a team of futurist researchers using proprietary trend-analysis methodologies
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic planning, R&D, or technology foresight roles
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies (3+ case studies required)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: AI ethics, quantum computing, or synthetic biology
- Exceptional data visualization skills with proficiency in trend analysis tools (Gephi, Tableau)
- Published author or frequent keynote speaker at major tech conferences
- Experience securing multi-million dollar innovation budgets
- Portfolio demonstrating successful future-strategy implementation
