Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including laundry and linen services.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure adherence to luxury standards.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage while controlling labor costs.
  • Train, coach, and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service excellence.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens to minimize waste and optimize costs.
  • Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly, escalating issues to management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including local health codes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in housekeeping management or a supervisory role within a luxury hotel.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) is highly preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in hospitality is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
